Oliver Davey
Ollie has a great passion for being on the water and has spent all his summers making use of the awesome conditions that you can get around New Zealand! In 2008 he started-up the Akaroa Sailing School to help others get into this great sport and make it easy to experience the unique sailing conditions in Akaroa Harbour.
  
Growing up in Akaroa he began sailing and windsurfing at age 10 and raced in the NZ youth classes of Optimist, P-Class and Starling. He then got hooked on surfing and wave-sailing and spent time chasing waves in Hawaii, Australia and Taranaki. Currently racing in the Laser Class and also on Keel Boats while living in Akaroa, as well as travelling to get competitive racing around NZ.
 
He gets a thrill helping others improve their skills and is always ready to change the way he coaches to keep things fun and to suit each sailor's individual learning style. He holds his Yachting NZ Instructor and Race Coach Qualifications and LLO (NZ Commercial Skippers Ticket)
